Job Description

Helicap is looking for a Vice President, Finance that will be a key member of the finance and operations team. The individual will oversee financial and performance data management as well as assist in client and regulatory reporting.

The successful candidate will report directly to the CFO and COO of Helicap. The candidate will be groomed to be Deputy-CFO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for group entities’ annual external audit and corporate tax submissions, ensuring that accounts and statutory filings are made in accordance with relevant accounting standards and tax rules
  • Ensure that funds and portfolios are accounted for in accordance with relevant policies & procedures
  • Manage the monthly closure of accounts for group entities, including the review of management accounts, analysis of variance, and monthly reporting to management
  • Responsible for the monthly and quarterly reporting of key financial and performance figures to investors
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including the assisting of requests from both internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and update group budgets/forecasts, including net asset value projections of managed funds
  • Support equity fundraising, deal acquisition and divestment, capital calls, and distributions
  • Liaise with bankers, auditors, tax agents, regulators, fund administrators, and corporate secretarial firms
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc filing of surveys, reports, and submissions to the Monetary Authority of Singapore for the group’s regulated entities
  • Initiate and spearhead new financial and operational initiatives

Skill Sets and Requirements

  • Degree holder, with a major in accounting or finance, preferably with an audit background
  • Holder of Chartered Accountant, or equivalent, certification
  • Min 5 years of experience in finance / operations, preferably in a bank or financial institution
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Positive professional attitude
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to lead and manage a team
  • Experience working in a compliance role or credit fund is a bonus
